Paul has devoted his entire working career to the interactive entertainment industry. Starting when he was 12 years old, his previous affiliations include Sierra On-Line, Activision, Atari, and Greenleaf Technologies. In the last eight years, he founded Evolution Consulting, a video game sales agency and in 2003 Pulse Interactive. Paul's assignments have ranged from Producer, to Director of Sales, to VP of business development and content acquisition. His duties have touched all aspects of the industry.
In light of his experience, Paul is a frequent speaker in game related conferences. He has recently spoken at the Austin Game Conference and again at the Austin Game Initiative's "How to break in to the game industry." He frequently addresses developers and publishers, on subjects such as how to break in to the game industry, what the various opportunities are, and how to survive the pitfalls, and challenges that face them. He has also spoken at numerous other conferences around the globe and stays active in the game publishing community.
Paul is a founding board member of one of the select few Video Game Development Programs offered at Universities and Colleges around the United States. Paul has been instrumental in not only aiding in the curriculum of Austin Community College's Video Game Program, but also has aided in the PR, marketing, and advisory side as well. Paul has also served the Government of South Korea in speaking with game developers and publishers on an almost regular basis as well as consults the government of South Korea on the exporting and importing of video games from around the world.
Paul is an avid volunteer and likes to “get involved” in the Austin community as much as possible. He is on countless advisory boards but is most proud of being a member of the Digital Media Council where he gets to speak to students to keep them here after college to help grow the local economy with superb talent taught by the finest educational institutions in Texas. When he is not working 80 hours per week, speaking to students, or attending trade shows you can watch him free falling from 14,000 feet at Skydive Temple or Skydive San Marcos where is he a skydive instructor, videographer, and coach.
